The BARRA 200R is a next-generation electric propulsion system delivering true 200hp-class performance through a patented Stealth Drive architecture. Designed to replace both outboards and sterndrives, it integrates the entire propulsion system beneath the swim platform - eliminating bulky engines while maximising usable space and visibility.
At its core is a 160kW axial flux motor producing 440Nm of torque, housed within a compact 220kg drive unit. This architecture removes the complexity of shafts, gearboxes, and external drivetrains, while retaining the usability of an outboard with up to 60° tilt for shallow water access and simplified maintenance.
The result is a clean, powerful, and highly efficient system that delivers smooth planing, strong mid-range thrust, and near-silent operation.

Frequently Asked
Questions
What boats is the BARRA system compatible with?
The BARRA system is designed to suit a wide range of vessels. Compatibility depends on hull type, weight, and intended use.
How does performance compare to traditional petrol outboards?
Electric drive delivers instant torque and smooth acceleration. Real-world performance varies depending on setup and operating conditions.
How is the system charged?
Charging options depend on the model and configuration. Systems can support onboard charging and external power sources.
What maintenance is required?
Electric systems significantly reduce maintenance compared to petrol engines. Service requirements will depend on usage and environment.
Can the system be upgraded or expanded over time?
You can install more batteries to increase range, the same way you add more fuel tank capacity.
