The BARRA 800R is the flagship of electric marine propulsion, delivering 800hp-class performance through a quad-motor Stealth Drive system. Designed for high-performance vessels, it replaces complex multi-engine setups with a single, fully integrated propulsion unit.
The system utilises 4 × 160kW axial flux motors operating in parallel, producing approximately 1760Nm of combined torque. To manage this immense output, the drive features twin 19” contra-rotating propellers, ensuring maximum thrust transfer, reduced cavitation, and stable high-speed performance.
Compared to the 200R, the 800R featuares quad motors and a 200mm taller drive profile (450kg weight), resulting in a performance system capable of sustained high-power operation.

Frequently Asked
Questions
What boats is the BARRA system compatible with?
The BARRA system is designed to suit a wide range of vessels. Compatibility depends on hull type, weight, and intended use.
How does performance compare to traditional petrol outboards?
Electric drive delivers instant torque and smooth acceleration. Real-world performance varies depending on setup and operating conditions.
How is the system charged?
Charging options depend on the model and configuration. Systems can support onboard charging and external power sources.
What maintenance is required?
Electric systems significantly reduce maintenance compared to petrol engines. Service requirements will depend on usage and environment.
Can the system be upgraded or expanded over time?
You can install more batteries to increase range, the same way you add more fuel tank capacity.
